Ants collected during the 2022 William H. Cross Expedition in Ozark region of Arkansas and southwestern Missouri (species list)
Joe MacGown

The following is a list of ants collected in the Ozark region of northwestern Arkansas and southwestern Missouri by MacGown, JoVonn Hill, Zach Brown and other participants of the 2022 William H. Cross Expedition from 18–22 July 2022. A total of 27 species of ants were collected on the trip, which was a low number of species for this type of trip. We attributed the low numbers to the historically high temperatures and record drought conditions. For more information about this Cross expedition, go to the 2022 Cross Expedition Log.

Localities where these species were collected are indicated following each species name by abbreviations as follows: Cabin near Beaver Lake = Cabin, Buffalo National River Park = BR, Baker Prairie = BP, Coy Bald at Hercules Glade Wildlife Management Area = CG, Henning Conservation Area = HCA, Chesney Prairie = CP, Kessler Mountain Reserve = KM, and Searles Prairie = SP
