Collecting or Glassine Envelopes

Dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies, and other delicate insects are often placed into special transparent mylar or glassine envelopes after being collected in the field. Collecting data can be written directly on the envelope.

In collections, dragonflies and damselflies are often also stored in glassine envelopes to conserve space and to protect the specimen. Data is typed on index cards, which are then placed into the glassine envelope.
